Make a small game with AI

Most games here are their maker's first. One afternoon, one conversation and a few rounds of "change it a bit" get you something playable. Here's the shortest way.

  1. Pick an AI tool

    Web chat

The web versions of Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini. The simplest choice for a first game: ask it to write one HTML file.

    Best for beginners
    AI coding tools

Claude Code, Cursor, Codex. They create files on your computer, run them and keep revising. Good for bigger games.

    Remix someone's game

Find a game whose maker allows remixes, say what you want changed, and build on it.

Press Remix on a game page
  2. Say the first sentence

Make three things clear: what you play, how you control it, and whether it's for phones or computers. Pick one of these and adjust it:

    • Make me a portrait phone game: a cat fishing from a boat. Tap to cast; when an exclamation mark appears, hold to reel in. Put it all in one index.html file.

    • Make a browser game for computers: steer a small ship with the arrow keys to dodge meteors, getting faster over time, and keep a high score. Put all the code in one HTML file.

    • Make a small office-life game: each day a few random tasks arrive, you choose which to do first, and after 30 days you get a result. Pixel art, portrait on phones, playable with one hand.

Once it runs, keep saying "too hard", "add sound", "the buttons are too small on phones", and the AI will improve it bit by bit.

  3. Publish it here for everyone

All you need is an address that opens, or a GitHub repository. Paste it, give it a name, publish.

FAQ

I can't code at all. Can I really make one?

Yes. Many makers here made their first game. You only need to describe what you want and patiently let the AI revise a few times. If you hit an error, paste the error message straight to the AI.

What format should the game be?

A web page that opens in a browser. The easiest way is to put it on GitHub Pages, itch.io, Vercel or Netlify and paste the address here; you can also give us a GitHub repository and we build it; with Claude Code, connect to us once and publish straight from your computer.

Can it be played on phones?

Ask the AI for "portrait, touch controls". Pick the screen when you publish and the card will say Portrait or Landscape.

Does publishing cost money?

Publishing and playing are both free.

Who owns the game?

The maker. You choose whether others may remix it; remixes name the original maker and game.

How soon can people see it after publishing?

Games published by link are playable right away; games from a GitHub repository wait for the build, usually a few minutes. You can change the name, cover, description and tags at any time afterwards.
